About Me

Where it started

Originally from Sweden, I got my Bachelor’s degree in Business Development & Administration. The program had a great focus on creativity, thinking outside the box, networking and always providing value and a unique experience. These are qualities I bring with my work to this day.

Once in the USA, I came as an international student and went to Eastern Michigan University where I successfully completed a 2nd Bachelor’s in Marketing and an M.BA. During my time at Eastern, I had the opportunity to both work as a Marketing Assistant for the on-campus NPR radio station, as well as in the International Students Office. This opened my eyes both to marketing as well as engaging with students and cultures from all parts of the world. A wonderful and eye-opening experience that helped me look at hings with a brand new perspective. It’s this mindset I also bring with me in my marketing efforts.

Marketing Manager

since 2017

I’ve always had a passion for marketing. My approach is a combination of both the creative and analytical side, approaching it from a sales and business development side. Seeing a concept turn into a campaign, and resulting in an outcome of new leads, customer engagement and connections, turning into a sale and happy customer is very rewarding and drives my passion.

In my last semester in college, I took a job as a management trainee in the media department at Meijer. I was supposed to train with the department manager, but he left just a few weeks into my tenure and, I was made the Department Manager. In my time there, I managed a $5 million department and a small team of about a half dozen team members. We exceeded department sales expectations and received great reviews from management. However as graduation date drew closer I knew this line of work wasn’t for me. Through one of my college friends I came across New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, and was offered a job there as an Account Executive. My Sales Manager told me that my persistence in continuing to follow-up during the hiring process was the reason I got the job. She said if I was that persistent trying to get the job, she thought I would be equally persistent with customers when trying to get the sale.

During my time as an Account Executive at New Horizons I was ranked #1 for our region 3 times, I won the President’s Club Award, and was awarded Sales Person of the month 12 times. I had the opportunity to work with clients of all sizes, helping them achieve their learning needs, whether it was a simple Excel class, or a large organization-wide training initiative involving hundreds of employees. I started creating my own targeted email lists so I could reach out to customers with tailored information that would be relevant to them. It was this effort that eventually landed me in the marketing department as a Marketing Campaign Specialist where I managed various marketing campaigns for the whole region. In my time there we saw our email list grow from 0 to over 50,000, website traffic increased by 151% and social media accounts saw a 400% growth.

For those of you who know me, you know I also DJ part time, and in my time as a DJ, I’ve been able to build a nice network of friends and contacts in the music industry. And with me being from Sweden originally, this led to a unique opportunity. Airus Music Group, based out of Utah and working with Swedish artists wanting to get into the US market. I worked for them for about a year, fully remote and par time, promoting and running marketing campaigns for their artists. The biggest success was being able to have one of their artists reach #5 on the Billboard club chart with one of their songs! I also made the music video for it. You can watch it here. It’s at the time of writing this just passed 50,000 views.

In early 2017 I took the next step in my career as the Marketing Manager at iMPact Business Group, a professional Staffing Agency, which is where I currently work. At iMPact I have developed a data driven marketing strategy from ground up including email marketing campaigns, content creation (blog, webinars, podcast and more), new website (twice), an internal SharePoint site (also twice), inbound marketing that’s generated thousands of incoming leads and numerous marketing generated placements each year.

I will detail out some of the projects I’ve worked on over the years on the Portfolio page.
